Day 1: Arrival at KIA and Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. This day is dedicated to rest and acclimatization, allowing you to adjust to the Tanzanian environment. We'll conduct a comprehensive briefing, ensuring you're fully prepared for the climb ahead. This is a crucial time to ask any questions and ensure all your gear is in order.

Day 2: Lemosho Glades to Forest Camp

Your journey begins with a drive to the Lemosho Glades trailhead. Today's hike takes you through lush rainforest, a stark contrast to the arid landscapes you might expect. The relatively gentle climb allows you to ease into the trek, enjoying the vibrant flora and fauna. You'll reach Forest Camp, your first overnight stop, where you can relax and acclimatize further.

Day 3: Forest Camp to Shira Camp 1

Today, the trail ascends out of the rainforest and into the heather and moorland zone. As you gain altitude, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the Shira Plateau. The hike is more challenging than the previous day, but the scenery more than makes up for it. You'll arrive at Shira Camp 1 in the late afternoon, providing ample time to rest and hydrate.

Day 4: Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2

This day offers a relatively shorter hike across the Shira Plateau. You'll traverse the plateau's undulating terrain, acclimatizing to the increasing altitude. The panoramic views of Kibo, Mount Kilimanjaro's summit, are breathtaking. Shira Camp 2 provides excellent views and a chance to explore the unique geological formations of the plateau.

Day 5: Shira Camp 2 to Barranco Camp (via Lava Tower)

This is a crucial acclimatization day. You'll hike to the Lava Tower (4,600m/15,100ft), the highest point of the day, before descending to Barranco Camp. This "climb high, sleep low" strategy is vital for preventing altitude sickness. The descent to Barranco Camp takes you through the otherworldly landscape of the Barranco Valley, known for its giant senecio plants.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Today involves navigating the Barranco Wall, a steep but non-technical scramble. Don't be intimidated; our experienced guides will assist you. Once over the wall, you'll descend into the Karanga Valley before ascending to Karanga Camp. This shorter day allows for further acclimatization and prepares you for the summit push.

Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

This is a demanding day as you ascend to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. The landscape becomes increasingly barren as you approach the alpine desert zone. Upon arrival, rest and prepare for the night ahead. You'll have an early dinner and try to get some sleep before the midnight wake-up call.

Day 8: Summit Day: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

The day you've been waiting for! You'll begin your ascent to the summit around midnight. The climb is challenging, both physically and mentally, but the reward is indescribable. Reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, is a moment you'll never forget. After celebrating your achievement, you'll descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

The final descent takes you through the lush rainforest once again. The air is thick with oxygen, and the sounds of the forest are invigorating. At Mweka Gate, you'll receive your summit certificates and be transferred back to your hotel for a celebratory shower and some much-needed relaxation.

Day 10: Departure from KIA

After a hearty breakfast, you'll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure, filled with memories of your incredible Kilimanjaro adventure.
