Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Moshi
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your guides for a trek briefing and gear check. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate (1,800m) and begin your trek through lush montane forest to Machame Camp (3,000m). Hike: ~6–7 hours.
Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Continue hiking up a ridge through moorland to Shira Camp (3,840m) with views of Kibo and Mount Meru. Hike: ~5–6 hours.
Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Ascend to the Lava Tower (4,630m) for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp (3,960m) below the dramatic Barranco Wall. Hike: ~6–8 hours..
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Climb the Barranco Wall, then trek across valleys and ridges to Karanga Camp (4,035m). Hike: ~4–5 hours.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Head to Barafu Camp (4,640m), your base for the final summit push. Rest early and prepare for a midnight climb. Hike: ~4 hours.
Day 7: Summit Uhuru Peak & Descend to Mweka Camp
At midnight, start your climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa! Celebrate at the summit and descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m). Hike: ~12–15 hours.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Transfer to Moshi
After breakfast, descend to Mweka Gate (1,640m) and receive your summit certificates. Return to Moshi for rest or transfer to the airport. Hike: ~3–4 hours.
